The whirlwind eight-month romance included a Dubai wedding, adopting a dog, getting tattoos dedicated to each other, and Lee going ‘missing’ before winding up in prison. Katie, 48, was recently spotted cosying up to another man and Lee, 43, has now unfollowed her on Instagram – she was the only account he followed. She later clarified that Felix Henderson, who she was seen with at the Glamour Awards, is just a work colleague but has now given more insight into her love life. ‘Just to address my situation,’ the reality star wrote in an Instagram story. ‘I’ve been married, had the family life. I thought my last marriage was for real and my final destination.’ Katie Price has said she’s not looking to date after split with Lee Andrews (Picture: @wesleeeandrews) She shared a message on Instagram about being single (Picture: Kate Price) Lee marked her fourth marriage – following Peter Andre, Alex Reid, and Kieran Hayler – and ninth engagement. While fans and family members had been sceptical of the Dubai businessman from the start, Katie had repeatedly defended him. Even after he ‘went missing’, turning out to be banged up in Al Awir prison, Katie continued to invest in their relationship until she couldn’t anymore. The final straw appeared to be when he failed to turn up for a joint interview with Good Morning Britain, with Katie confessing, ‘I love him but who is he?’ In her post, she asserted that she is ‘not interested in meeting anyone else, engaging with anyone, messaging anyone, or going on any dating apps or dates.’ Katie added: ‘I’m content, happy, and love my own company and have fantastic friends and family.’ To view this video please enable JavaScript, and…

Rank 6459To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page The owners of world-renowned Blue Note Jazz Club have said opening their new London venue was ‘one of the hardest things they have done’ as the Mayor officially receives his new licensing powers. The club, which opened on St Martin’s Lane, Covent Garden, in September, had to battle against multiple complaints and licensing rejections from the public and the police. This is despite the fact they own 10 successful venues across the world, including in Milan, Los Angeles and Tokyo. Their founding venue in New York is also regarded as one the world’s most famous jazz clubs. But opening in London ‘proved to be their hardest’. The director of music, Nick Lewis, told Metro: ‘It absolutely was a struggle trying to open. Initially, they gave us an 11pm closing time, which is too early as the nature of jazz is always geared toward late performances. ‘Through a long appeal process, we eventually managed to secure a 1am closing time. With this we can run two shows a night and balance the books. But ideally we would be going until 3am.’ Secretary of Communities and Local Government Angela Rayner (right) with Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Director of Music for Blue Note Jazz Club Nick Lewis (Picture: Greater London Authority) In February 2025, Metro reported the club’s opening had received a number of odd complaints. One resident said jazz lovers may be ‘disoriented’ by leaving the venue when it is cold at night, while another said the venue ‘could be a magnet for phone thieves’. The Metropolitan Police, opposing the opening, said its proposed 1am closing time was far too late as it could ‘expose more people to crime and disorder’. Mr Lewis said: ‘Reading through all those complaints was hard. There was one point where we all thought “it really feels like we are not wanted here”.’ The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan officially…

Rank 6475New tournament is designed to provide a context that was apparently lacking in the legendary clashes of the past It was a loose kick, tumbling aimlessly end over end into the All Blacks’ half. Their wing Billy Wallace gathered it and sprinted into midfield, through a gap and on into the Welsh half, only their full-back ahead of him now, and with his teammate Bob Deans in the corner of his eye, coming on the inside calling for the ball. Wallace gave the pass and Deans was away, making straight for the posts, tackled at the last moment by Rhys Gabe, and the two of them went sliding for the try‑line together. The ball finished in the tips of Deans’s fingers, at the end of his outstretched arm. Over the line? On the line? Inches away from the line? Continue reading...

Rank 6476Apocryphal plans to send an arousing morale booster to troops battling the Nazis make scant sense, and nor does the resulting movie Some potentially interesting ideas here and a good cast … but the whole thing disintegrates into a very weird and ill-judged mess. It looks as if it might be a saucy romp, but is in fact doomily serious, like a stilted, stricken stage play. Sexual violence, PTSD and misogyny are among the issues that the film fails to address convincingly. Writer-director Richard Hawkins (who scripted Paul Greengrass’s The Theory of Flight) imagines that during the second world war the British government commissioned porn films to be shown to troops as a morale-boost. This is supposedly based on an “urban myth” whose existence does not appear to be evident other than in online material relating to this film – although Britain’s Political Warfare Executive (PWE) is known to have dropped pornographic leaflets over Germany to damage enemy morale, crudely depicting wives cheating on absent soldier husbands, etc. Continue reading...

Rank 6483Brenda Willison is officially the world’s loudest woman (Picture: Guinness World Records) She has a shout that can bring even the loudest crowds to a hush. Brenda Willison, a town crier from Newmarket, Suffolk, is officially the world’s loudest woman. On September 9, the Guinness Book of World Records confirmed that her cry of ‘oyez’ at 105.9 dB was the loudest shout by an individual woman. ‘For context, that would be like standing right next to a snowblower or a blasting car horn,’ Guinness wrote. Despite setting the world record, she believes she could have done better – as she had a cold at the time. Sign up for all of the latest stories Start your day informed with Metro's News Updates newsletter or get Breaking News alerts the moment it happens. She’s cried at Buckingham Palace for the Queen Mother’s birthday (Picture: Guinness World Records) Brenda first became a town crier in Peterborough when her daughter entered her without her knowledge. Eventually, she went on to cry at Buckingham Palace for the Queen Mother’s 100th birthday. Britain’s town criers have been making headlines in the last few months. Last month, a council worker was crowned Britain’s best town crier amongst other world champions. Christian Ashdown, 57, placed third at the world championships held in Chester, Cheshire. He finished behind an Australian and a Belgian, making him Britain’s best town crier. Christian has been the town crier in Haslemere, Surrey, for 16 years but said he did not think he would place in the top three at the competition, describing his finish as a ‘pleasant surprise’. Christian said: ‘I like to think I am up in the top 30 town criers. At that competition there were some top criers, especially from Canada, and I came ahead of them, so I was quite impressed with that. Twenty-five people entered the World Town Crier Tournament, held over five days at the end of last month. Competitors were judged on three cries: one on their home towns, one on a…

Rank 6486Bavarian Radio SO/Rattle (BR Klassik) Simon Rattle has recorded the Russian master’s fairytale ballet twice before, but this version has considerable gains, not least in Rattle’s engaging half hour talk about it Simon Rattle and Stravinsky’s fairytale ballet go way back. A longtime staple of his repertoire, he recorded it with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in the late 1980s, a 2017 concert performance with the LSO was released in 2022. This similarly live account with his current Bavarian orchestra comes with a bonus: an engaging half-hour talk with musical examples, ideal for newcomers or anyone keen to take a deeper dive into the history of the Russian master’s breakthrough work. All three Rattle recordings are of the complete score from 1910, though this latest interpretation is the swiftest, knocking several minutes off his previous readings and aided by an ideally natural acoustic. The gains are apparent not just in the dramatic thrust he achieves but in the diaphanous textures. Continue reading...

Rank 6489To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page Aldi has launched this year’s Christmas advert, but the campaign goes beyond the screen and viewers have discovered a secret phone message. The supermarket has, of course, brought back fan favourite character Kevin the Carrot and his daughter Chantenay. This year the pair have lost their ‘Cauli-dog’, a pooch made from cauliflower, and are putting out posters to find him. Cauli-dog (which appears to be both the dog’s name and species) is described as ‘friendly, but nervous around cheese’. Eagle-eyed viewers saw the lost poster included Kevin’s number, 03335775577, which you can actually call. Unfortunately, you do get Kevin’s voicemail, which states he’s unable to answer as he’s out searching for his pet. Aldi’s advert features Kevin the Carrot on the hunt for his lost dog (Picture: Aldi) The phone number on the lost poster is a functioning number to call (Picture: Aldi) The recording adds: ‘He’s definitely been here, I knew I should’ve brought a poo bag or two, or three. What on earth has he been eating?’ Thankfully, Cauli-dog is found in the advert as one poster was helpfully placed on Father Christmas’ letterbox. Aldi aren’t the only ones with an elaborate advert, with the likes of Wallace and Gromit joining Barbour and the Muppets teaming up with US supermarket Walmart. However, it’s John Lewis’ spot featuring Dame Kristin Scott Thomas that has really caused a stir, and not necessarily for the best. With the tagline ‘Don’t give up on giving’, the Slow Horses star plays a grandma called Gloria, who’s desperate to connect with her grandchildren. Instead of giving them money, she takes the cash out of the card and transforms an entire room in her home into ‘Gran Cave’ where they dance to music and seemingly have a wonderful Christmas.
