X-rays with wavelengths between approximately 2.3 and 4.4 nanometers, i.e., in the so-called water window, are particularly well suited to examining biological samples in their natural, aqueous environment. To date, however, it has been technically difficult to access this type of radiation at an appropriate quality and intensity, as only free-electron lasers in large-scale accelerator systems are capable of generating it.

The Wallabies have a squad capable of magic but doubts remain over whether their talents can be knitted into a great team There are moments when Australia look like a team that can take on the world. Moments when they’re trailing by two in the 83rd minute at Twickenham and all of a sudden Len Ikitau has snapped an underhand pass through to Max Jorgensen and he’s haring down the wing to score in the corner. Moments when Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii has ripped his way around Tom Curry, inside Bundee Aki, and over Tadhg Beirne, to send Tom Wright racing into the empty space of the British and Irish Lions backfield. Moments when they’re down to 11 men and defending a four-point lead with five to play against the Springboks, and somehow come out of it with a win. And then there’s the rest of it. There’s never yet been a Wallabies team that didn’t have these flickers and sparks of ability in them, but it has been a long time since there has been one that could do it often enough, for long enough to win, and then all over again in the next Test and the one after. They lost all four Tests on tour in Europe last autumn, and two more in the summer besides. Then they went on an unbeaten run through six more against Italy, Japan, Argentina and South Africa before being knocked on to their backsides by the All Blacks in back-to-back defeats in the Bledisloe Cup, 31 points one week, 22 the next. Once a common sight in lecture theaters and coffee shops everywhere, the glowing emblem of an Apple logo featured on the lids of many Mac laptops launched in the early 2000s. In a nice touch, the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with PROLED XDR displays bring back the much-loved logo. It's lit up whenever the Mac is awake, and it automatically dims or brightens based on your screen's brightness level and the ambient light in the room. Image credit: MacRumors forum member sniffies If you'd rather keep the logo dark, Apple has shared a way to turn it off. Unusually though, there's no switch in System Settings. Instead, you need to enter a command in the Terminal app. If that sounds intimidating, don't worry – it's a single line that you can copy and paste. Note that the following command only works on MacBook Pro models with a PROLED XDR display. Open Terminal on your Mac: it's in the Applications ➝ Utilities folder, or you can search for "Terminal" using Spotlight (Command + Space). Type or paste the following command, then press Enter: sudo defaults write com.apple.CoreBrightness LEBacklightMode -int 0 When prompted, enter your administrator password and press Enter. (Terminal doesn't show the password as you type it.) After performing the steps, the logo illumination should turn off immediately, no restart required. The change applies to all macOS user accounts on the machine, and it will carry over even if you start up from macOS Recovery. If you later migrate to a new Mac, the setting even transfers across with the rest of your system. Relight the Apple Logo Reinstalling macOS turns the illumination back on, but you can also turn it back on yourself at any time by entering the following command in Terminal: sudo defaults delete com.apple.CoreBrightness LEBacklightMode Remember to press Enter! Backstory The first Mac laptop with a lit-up Apple logo was the third-generation PowerBook G3 launched in 1999. The glowing symbol proved a mainstay…

Oppo's Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max went global recently, and the Find X10 Ultra was expected to follow in the first half of next year as the camera-focused top dog. Today, Digital Chat Station on Weibo says Oppo's Ultra project is on hold. There's no reason given, but it's easy to guess that it all has to do with the insane memory prices which would have pushed the Find X10 Ultra to stratospheric levels, considering it was supposed to be a camera-centric flagship, and those cameras aren't cheap either. Oppo Find X9 Ultra According to past rumors, the Ultra was going to have a...
