Naomi didn't just run away from her own wedding; she rushed to rescue her estranged twin in Knockemout, Virginia, a rugged town where problems are resolved the old-fashioned way – through fights and beer, usually in that order.

Unfortunately, Naomi's twin, Tina, hasn't changed one bit. She not only took Naomi's car and money but also left her with an unexpected surprise – a niece Naomi had no idea existed. Now she's stuck in town without a car, job, plan, or a place to stay, while taking care of an 11-year-old who seems wise beyond her years.

Knox, who prefers a simple and uncomplicated life, especially when it comes to relationships, finds himself helping Naomi out of her predicament. Since Naomi's life fell apart right in front of him, he figures the least he can do is assist her. His hope is that once she stops getting into fresh trouble, he can go back to his peaceful and solitary existence.
