Paleokastritsa
The Paleokastritsa beach has been awarded with many prizes such as "Best Beach in Europe", "Best Beach in Greece", "Most Beautiful European Beach"
It is a long sandy beach with crystal clear waters, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The beach offers plenty of shade from pine trees.
The beach is surrounded by rocks on three sides and has several small pebbles that make it difficult for currents to flow through. The water here is usually calm and clear enough to see many fish swimming around.
The name "Paleokastritsa" comes from the Greek word "Paliokastro", meaning old castle. This name was given to the area by locals because it looks like an ancient castle.
